Judging by the title of this blog, you can safely assume that I went to grad school at a “prestigious” university. I know, it sounds bougie but this was my second time in grad school and I can tell you there is a big difference between a state school and a private institution. The students are definitely more driven, more intelligent, and exude a certain level of class that is often instilled through boarding school (my opinion). But my argument is that regardless of your prestigious education, job title, or family upbringing…people operate at a primal level, especially women.

My background is in business, but I came to the school to study a completely different subject. I never thought I would get in but I did and gave up a good career to come there. In fact, I had just gotten promoted and my company looked at me like I just spit in their face. I didn’t mean to but I did leave a few months after they worked hard to push my promotion through before layoffs started. I only applied to one grad school and thought it was a long shot.

I’m not sure if career fields attract certain types of people, or if working in a field transforms people into a particular persona, but I never felt fully engaged with my own cohort. I knew someone at the business school because he had served together with my two childhood friends and would consistently invite me out to the business events. Through him, I met a female student who also served in the military and knew the same people I knew. Lets call her Leslie. Ultimately, it was the reason why I spent so much time with the business school students. Maybe it was my personality or the years in corporate America, but I connected with the b-school cohorts.

The active and former military students tended to hang out together, but surprisingly bonded with the nerdy types as well. Naturally, because of my mutual friend and Leslie, I joined their events. Leslie befriended a girl named Janie, a South Asian girl with a corporate background and fancy schooling. She was definitely outgoing and a little flirty, but based on her past jobs and where she went to school, I assumed she was a smart classy girl. Definitely attractive too.

So the mutual friend, Leslie, Janie, and I were often times hanging out at the same events. Leslie was super fit, an athlete, and I wasn’t sure if she was attracted to me or not. I’m not a super model, but I am 6’0”, 200 pounds, and in shape. I’ve always lifted and participated in combat sports for many years. Looking around the room, many of the business students were dressed up, but their love handles showed. Leslie was so in tune with any girl that I was checking out, and bluntly asked me all the time, “Do you think she’s hot?” It could be at dinner, a business club event, or going out to an actual bar or club in DC and she was always aware.

Now, I wasn’t particularly attracted to Leslie but I really felt like she was a sweet girl. Regardless, I think Janie started to pick up on it. She would flirt with the military guys, the ones in shape at least, and sort of brushed off the shorter intellectual types. This was so odd, because it seemed like all the girls in my own program/cohort were more attracted to the witty, nerdy, intellectual d-bags proclaiming how progressive they were in their grandiose speeches. But Janie started to give me sultry looks after she saw Leslie’s curiosity.

One night, we were at a rooftop bar with a large group of business students. True to form, everyone is boasting about their business aspirations or corporate experience. Janie was engaging, but I knew she had a lot more to offer. She probably came with a better background and schooling than most of these chumps but wasn’t interested in their chest pounding. By now, you can safely assume that I’ve been assessing Janie for some time now. Mostly her figure and sultry eyes. She knew. She definitely knew.

I think girls can tell when a guy likes them because they’re terrible at hiding it. Trust me, even now I’m bad at it. I bet a few girls at the church I go to think I’m a creep. But anyways, she wasn’t the first or last to do this…but I think she enjoyed it and sort of teased me. At first, I thought I was overthinking it. Often times in a group, I would be talking to someone and she would come up a few inches from me and stare at me. That night, she was really overt about it but I was still paranoid about overthinking it. At one point, I think we were dancing and her ass touched my legs a few times. I wasn’t trying to grind on her but it was packed at one point.

My friend ended up leaving early because he had family stuff to deal with so I was left with Leslie and Janie. The rest of the business folks there spread out and eventually headed out. I thought well, I’m already here…might as well stay a little bit. I wasted my teens and 20’s always in the club but it brought back nostalgia just being there.

I made my way back inside and was getting kind of tired and decided to sit down on the couch in a quiet area. Leslie and Janie found me and worked their way towards me. Leslie and I were chatting when all of a sudden Janie came up to me and lifted up her short skirt. She proceeded to get on top of my lap and grind my leg back and forth with her crotch. Not going to lie, I’m not sure if she was wearing panties but it definitely felt warm. I can’t describe to you the shock on Leslie’s face when she saw her friend do that. I was also in shock. I mean, Janie was hot but my first priority was to check my pants for stains.

Currently, Janie is upper management at a fairly well known consulting firm, married a tall but fugly dude and has kids. However, regardless of whatever accolades, education, money, or accomplishments you’ve had in life…I’m convinced you can’t bring that into the bedroom. Not at a primal level. Underneath the corporate veneer, church facade, family aura, there is something primal that every woman wants. Get in the gym.
